This whole concept is impressive in it’s boldness and creativity and is a great step in finding a more sustainable solution for unusable tankers. Imagine a series of floating villages or even cities parked along the coast near major cities or even in more isolated areas of the coast. While this is targeted at the Middle East. It seems there could be huge potential for creating viable village infrastructures for third world countries with viable coast lines such as in Africa or South America.
It will be fun to watch this idea mature and perhaps in a future post we will have our first examples of operating tanker villages to show you.
